Science is an everchanging field that I love to explore with my students. As a biologist, I believe that I can show all of the exciting wonders science has to offer. As a teacher, I can bridge the gap between a lab and a classroom setting.
Despite various learning backgrounds and interests, all of my students question the science that surrounds them.
The structure of my classroom allows for frequent classroom discussions and debates. Sometimes these discussions lead all of us to further investigate the answer using outside resources.
The ultimate goal of my class is to share how exciting biology is by implementing my knowledge gained from working in a research lab. I want my students to question why something happens and to teach them how to become resourceful so they can find answers.
As a biology teacher, I would like to give my students as many opportunities as possible to apply what we learn in class lectures. Through this project, my students will be able to perform and observe bacterial transformations.
With my project, I will be giving my biology students a hands-on opportunity to explore the exciting science of biotechnology by manipulating bacteria!
Because most of my students plan to attend college, this project will provide them with a foundation for experiments they will perform in college! Your support is greatly appreciated!
