My Students

Make it bigger! The technology we have to help us in our theater and in our presentations is outdated and broken. We have not had an upgrade nor do we have the means to project images in our theater for over a decade. My students would love to be able to prepare themselves for bigger events by being able to use a projector to make their art bigger, project their photos as backdrops for on the road shows, etc. Sometimes traveling with a set is cumbersome, especially when people want technology incorporated into the show. Help us incorporate that technology with a projector.

My students come from low income families who sometimes think school and especially theater are a waste of time.

They are discouraged by the lack of interest from the outside community in their performances. The are excited by the prospect of taking performances to the elementary schools to help inspire those students to pursue theater and are really excited to incorporate technology into their show.

My Project

We are asking for a portable projector to help take our theater show on the road. By giving the students this projector, they will be able to bring their giant puppets to the local elementary schools. They plan to bring the show and the "making of the show" portion to the stage using this projector. Their hope is to get other students excited and into storytelling so that by the time they get to high school, they will want to tell stories of their own to kids.

This projector will give my students the opportunity to share with hundreds of other students just how they make their giant puppets.

It will not only impact the lives of the students in the show, but those students who are also fortunate enough to see the show as well.
