My Project

I am a social worker at a large urban school. I work with students experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and trauma. Many of them are the first in their family to graduate from high school.

We hand out "grad bags" to each of our seniors, which contain their transcripts and cap and gown, but I want to add something personal to the grad bags of the students I've worked with this year.

I'll add personalized cards with a personalized note inside.

I'll write about their strengths and talents, and review the work we have done together over the years. I will add a keychain to each card as a gift they can keep. It is my belief that by adding a personalized touch to these grad bags, we will be able to make this day feel even more special to them.
