My Project

Our students are genius. They come in with a wealth of knowledge and experiences. Not all walk in with a positive math identity, but we make it our mission to help them realize that we all are mathematicians. Our students are open, kind, silly, and brilliant. They want to make the world a better place for everyone where we all uplift one another. They inspire us to do our best everyday.

To build up positive math identities, we make math accessible and enjoyable through the use of manipulatives, such as these geometric solids.

Students will learn how all of the volume formulas are connected to each other through their noticings and wonderings of the geometric solids. Many of our students benefit from kinesthetic learning so these materials will be so helpful. These materials will be distributed across all of our geometry classrooms in our department. Thank you for considering us with your generosity!
