This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

If I could describe my students in a few words they would be Motivated, Enthusiastic, and Self-driven. These 10th grade health science students come from all different parts of Miami Dade County in order to attend our Health Science Program.

My students are eager individuals ready to learn and they have an unbelievable thirst for knowledge.

They come in every morning ready and prepared for the day's lesson with tons of questions that sometimes can steer the class astray, but that is what makes my students so special.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by helping reinforce lessons that are taught in class. Also, when learning about the human body there is no better way than hands-on and actually seeing different parts in person.

Dissection labs are important because they help students learn about the internal structures of animals, help students see how the systems and organs are in the human body, and show students how the tissues and organs are interrelated.

The labs also give students an appreciation of the complexity of organisms in a hands-on learning environment. Also, having these mink cadavers and pig and sheep organs will improve my students' school life because it would be another interesting part of my class and give them something to look forward to other than the regular boring online simulations. With these materials, my students will not only get to physically see how organs and tissues look, but also get to feel the texture and follow arteries and veins connecting every part of the body. This is just a small example of how this will improve my classroom and my students' learning.
