If given the opportunity these children will be our future! I teach a multi grade (3,4,5) special education classroom with students who struggle to overcome a variety of disabilities.

My classroom needs art supplies to help the students explore their creative side. There is no money allotted for art or for teaching the students current events (social studies). For my students, these are two places in academics where they can feel successful. My students need 12 copies of Times for Kids, as well as, markers and colored pencils for art supplies. They need book series and enjoy Cam Jansen. They need election information books on Barack Obama and John McCain to understand the election.

Giving students who struggle with writing a chance to express themselves through art is giving them freedom. In addition, they have found a genuine interest in the election process and book series which encourage them to share their ideas with others.

People look at my students and think "they can't succeed." I know different and I know that as a donor you will make it possible for my students to succeed beyond everyone's expectations.
