This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hi! My name is Ms. Sanchez and I am the new 7th grade math teacher at our middle school. I took this role because I understand the struggles I had with math growing up, and would love for my classroom to be a fun place for my students to do math or study or just want to be here. It would also help students who do not have mean to buy their supplies due to family hardships. Allowing these students to come in without the stress of being unprepared will allow them to feel comfortable and focused, since they do not need to stress about materials they cannot afford.

Math supplies will help motivate students, engage them in learning, and make Math fun, resulting in middle schoolers wanting to attend math class.

Many middle schoolers do not enjoy school or lose their love for learning. Creating a class that is welcoming and engaging can break those negative misconceptions of math. Together we can reinvent math and help students thrive, put the fun back in learning, and most importantly motivate students to enjoy their learning and love school again.
