Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the shuffle of the transition to high school, our wish is to make the transition as smooth and organized as possible. With the help of the Wooden Paper and Mail Organizer, we can have a home base for students to keep their folders, pencils, and other important materials they will receive in our Algebra I class.

Students can use this space to develop their organizational habits and know they always have a home base in our math classroom.

Math is often a place where students feel anxious about the level of material and often feel discouraged as soon as they see it on their schedule. Developing classroom-wide systems to put them at ease will allow them to focus on conquering their fears of Algebra and growing all around in our class.

Our school does not have the space to accommodate lockers in our hallways so our classrooms become the space where we encourage students to develop their executive functioning and organizational habits. Each classroom becomes a safe space for students to organize their belongings for the subject at hand and a safe space for heavier materials.

The product we have selected is integral to creating a calm oasis for our students to expect routines that can become second nature and develop their organizational habits.
