I want to give my students a hands-on opportunity to view the life cycle of a butterfly. I would like a kit and larvae so the students can watch the butterflies hatch. I also believe that by seeing the model of the life cycle of a butterfly, it will help them understand what they are seeing. If I teach them about it or they read about it in a book, they only understand it at a basic level. If my students are able to go through the process themselves and see it up close and personal, they will make a greater connection. If my students make a personal connection and can make memories about the life cycle of a butterfly, they are more likely to retain the information. I also feel that my students will create a positive interaction and experience with science.
