My Project

The use of white boards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math and language arts. Using the white boards during math and language arts, students come to the rug with whiteboards for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing in quick and short assessment opportunities, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work with their peers. What becomes a problem is the fact that their erasers wear and tear over time. Their mechanical pencils also break after heavy use. Students need to know that we have their best interest at heart when working hard to meet the standards and that the availability of an eraser, pencil, or magnetic double-sided white board will be at the ready when needed. These additional materials will increase their ability have resources available to complete their daily tasks with automaticity.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement in both math and creative independent activity time as a reward for their diligent efforts.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not have to worry about whether their materials are going to work or not. These hands on activities will increase their dendritic connections from hand to mind! Thank you in advance for your generous contributions. Blessings!
