My Project
Formal learning at a desk or table is just one part of teaching. Whiteboards placed throughout a classroom switch things up. They help create flexible learning environments that allow teachers or students to adjust on the fly; there is no front or back of the room. In my experience, whiteboards allow for more spontaneous sharing, learning, and assessment. By using giant whiteboards around the classroom makes it an easy way to encourage teamwork, differentiate, and foster deep engagement with content.

As many teachers will tell you, the whiteboard is super important in the classroom! This year, I switched schools and my new classroom does not have whiteboards. I am in an old building and they have chalkboards up in place. I bought the self-adhesive whiteboards to cover the chalkboards as a temporary fix, however, when erasing it leaves streaks from the dry-erase markers, making it hard for students to see clearly. Also, the white on the board is starting to rub/break off.
Due to a lack of funding, we are unable to replace it. Not only would you be providing my class with a new board they can read but it will also double as a learning center during reading, math, science, and social studies rotations. I have a lot of magnetic manipulatives that do not have anywhere to go since I moved classrooms!
