Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a public school in an urban environment. They are smart, energetic, and always eager to learn. Their favorite subject is science because of the different experiments we do, but they also enjoy working with their math tools and reading in large groups.

All my students are considered low income and qualify for free breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

Many of my students speak a first language that is not English and are English language learners, and some have individualized educational plans because they have special learning styles.

Despite these obstacles and hardships, we are one big community inside of our classroom, and there is nothing better than seeing smiles on their faces during my lessons because they strive to succeed.

All of my students stand out in their own creative ways. We all enjoy getting to know each other throughout the school year!

My Project

The whiteboard will help my students engage in interactive learning. Whiteboards are used daily in most classrooms to convey directions, display student work, and practice language arts skills such as grammar and vocabulary. Currently, we do not have a magnetic whiteboard or magnets in our classroom and these supplies would be put to great use by all students.

Students will benefit from having learning goals and daily directions written on the whiteboard to aid in their education.

The magnetic aspect will allow students to easily display their work and see the examples of their peers. Visual aids greatly enhance student engagement and these can be changed quickly throughout the day to meet the individual needs of each class period with a new magnetic, dry erase board!
