My Students

My students are going magnetic! We love to explore magnets in the classroom and what better way to learn basic math skills.

I teach a preschool class consisting of 3, 4, and 5 year-old children.

Many of them are experiencing school for the first time and are excited to explore their environment. My students have developmental delays and require additional resources to access their environment and meet their many sensory needs. They attend a large public school in a typical classroom. This presents the challenge of creating a class that is developmentally appropriate in both size and materials. My preschool students are eager learners and deserve the best!

My Project

We want to learn with magnets. Magnetic boards teach counting, color, and letter recognition skills in an engaging way! These magnetic boards will be used in centers to practice color sorting, patterns, alphabet and number recognition. Students will also develop fine motor skills while exploring these concepts. The picture templates give them patterns to match, which create a picture. Using these magnetic boards will also develop fine motor skills. This is especially important for my students with special needs. Developing fine motor skills will help them later on with written tasks.

Magnetic boards teach important basic math and literacy skills in an engaging manner.

Pre-K students love to explore and learn using hands-on materials. Developing fine motor skills is essential to pre-writing and these boards require students to grasp a magnet pen and use control to move the objects. Thank you for helping us receive these amazing magnetic boards!
