My Students

My students and families are the best! Every morning, we start our day with an "Energy Bus" Meeting that allows us to begin our day with positivity! We create a circle every morning where students take the time to share something positive about a person in our class. This is a great way to start our day and fuel each other's "ride" with positive energy!

As you walk into our classroom, you would hear a student translating from English to Spanish, see students working in small groups and even some dancing and singing with lots of smiling faces!

My students truly love each other and take the time to make sure that no one is left out. We are so lucky to learn and play in a positive, learning environment with a beautiful view of rolling hills and many trees and an added bonus of cows at our front entrance.

My Project

The academic expectations continue to increase year after year in kindergarten. By the end of the year, my students are expected to read simple books and comprehend what they read. One way to help my students reach the goal of reading by the end of the year is by learning over 100 sight words! In order for my students to reach this goal, it is essential that they spend time at home practicing these words every night.

Many of my students do not have the resources at home to practice their sight words and that is why I want to provide every child with their own container of magnetic letters!

These plastic magnetic letters will be kept in a bag that my students will be able to take home every night and keep! I will provide their families with different games and activities to allow their child to build their sight words with the letters. This will allow my students to practice their words every night and have fun. Every child needs their own set of magnetic letters.
