This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are the best Pre-kindergarten class in Texas. My 25 kids are so smart and so much fun to teach. At this age they are so resilient and absorb everything I teach them. Unfortunately due to their age they also tear through our materials pretty quickly. We have a set of magna-tiles in our puzzle workstation and my kids love them. My set of magna-tiles have been very "loved" through the years and needs to be replaced.

I would like my kids to have a new set of magna-tiles and incorporate our literacy and science units (farm, animal, and community workers, etc) in their play.

The different sets of magna-tiles will replace the set we have and will be changed depending on the unit we are in. When we study the family unit we will use the magnetic tiles with figures so that the students can simulate a home with a family in it. When we study community workers the kids will be able to use the magna-tiles construction set. When we study transportation we will use the magna-tile dasher set to do races. When we study animals we will use use the four different sets of magna-tiles forest, jungle, dinosaur and arctic sets. The other magna-tiles sets will be swapped out on a monthly basis and will replace the old set we have in the classroom.
