Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is going to be a great year for my kindergarten students. They will learn their ABCs, numbers, how to read and write and how to make new friends. Some of my students come to kindergarten with no English language and they leave my class reading. Seventy-five percent of the students at my school qualify for free lunch. Every student also qualifies for free breakfast every day. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so we need to make sure every student has eaten breakfast and is ready to learn. My school is full of great students, parents, teachers, staff, and administration. We work together to make sure each child is getting the best education they can! We all become family!

My Project

I have the same set of magna-tiles that my students love to use to build, but it’s just not enough! They need more tiles to build bigger and better things with! They are very limited with what they have.

I want them to create and build and work together using these magna-tiles.

It will teach them building skills along with skills for working others. I know my students would love to have more! I can’t wait to see what they can build next! I will print out pictures of different buildings around the world for them to try and make!
