Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from many different backgrounds. Many of them come from countries like El Salvador, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. My students. My students do not have academic opportunities at home. That is why I need to ensure that my classroom has the resources to expand its learning opportunities.

I may not be able to control their homes lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day to help them have an awesome experience full of engaging activities, as they maximize their knowledge.

My Project

Having a cozy and magical reading area will attract and encourage students to read independently for pleasure. Students are more likely to pick up a book and read it in a magical and cozy library, than reading in an unattractive library. For that reason, is that I would like the light-up canopies, and the lounge chair in our reading corner to foster that magical and cozy environment. Also, I would use the bins and labeler to level and organize the books and make them accessible for my students.

My goal is to give my students access to a cozy, magical, and comfortable reading environment at school since the majority of our students don't have access to a quiet and cozy reading area at home.

I want my students to develop a love for reading books, that even my struggling readers enjoy reading at their independent level.
