Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like to select that special book and find a comfortable place to read? It is a magical feeling to find a great space and open a new book. The magic carpet will ensure comfort while reading our favorite books.
There are 30 amazing students in my classroom.
They are eager and excited about learning. The students come from diverse backgrounds. Many come from a low socioeconomic background. They are excited about reading, however the floor is cold so they must sit in their chairs. The carpet would ensure comfort while reading their favorite books.
My Project
The magic carpet will transform my cold floor into a comfortable and cozy learning environment. We can meet on the carpet to share about what we have learned and look forward to learning. The students can share their favorite books. They can share important ideas about their thoughts and their lives. Most importantly, the students love to sit and read with a friend in a comfortable spot in the room. I want to instill an eagerness to read and engage my students to be lifelong learners.
