My Students

My 7th and 8th grade students are the BEST! They are beginning to form commanding identities and question EVERYTHING about the world and how they fit into it now, and how they will fit into it in the future.

Our school is located in Southwest Baltimore, an area of the city known more for its high drug use and crime statistics, than its student reading data and achievement.

With your help, we plan to change that! My students love to read and we can not wait to get our hands on Scholastic magazines next year!

My Project

I have students in my class who are two or more grades behind in reaching their reading goals. We have strategies and resources in place to prevent summer learning loss this year, but I need your support to provide my students with Scholastic Magazines in the fall. These magazines cover high interest topics, are easily accessible to all readers and they are fun to read! It's almost as if I'm tricking my students into reading.

Differentiation is the key to student academic success.

These magazines, as well as the teacher resources and online tools will be an important part of our ongoing academic success next year.
