My Students

Need to engage in hands on learning opportunities to gain an understanding of mathematical concepts so they are prepared to enter kindergarten successfully. Our classroom needs a variety of materials that will capture my student's interests and build their skills while they play.

The students in my classroom attend a full day program that requires a variety of materials that intrigue the children while teaching them exciting concepts.

My room is filled with 3-5 years old students that love to engage in learning activities that they can share with friends and family members when they are picked up at the end of the day.

My Project

The resources the I am requesting for my classroom are hands-on math activities that present familiar objects into the learning concepts. There is farm animal sorting, geometrical shapes that can be made with rubber bands to look like trees, boats, and cars. My students with have the opportunity to interact with friends as they sort shapes, measure snakes, count objects, and graph cars.

This project gives my students opportunities to build math and social skills while playing.

The older students in my room love to learn new concepts and then teach those concepts to the younger students. They pretend to be the teacher following all the necessary steps to teach the lesson to another student. Providing materials to help students achieve success not only for themselves but also for their classmates has a chain effect that makes a difference for years to come.
