Machine Mavericks

Help me give my students an experience in physical science. We will be launching a variety of rockets with different engines as well as testing different surfaces and measuring distance. I have large classes and minimal materials.

My Project

For the second semester students will be shooting objects on surfaces and up into the air. In order to have more hands-on and smaller groups for engagement, more materials are needed. The goal is to have students using hands-on materials to experiment with Newton's Laws and practice measurement in metric with real objects as opposed to using online simulators. A secondary goal is that students will be engaged in problem-solving and discussion with their classmates. My students thrive on building!

Making the learning real with hands-on experiences - ping pong projectiles, car and ramp kit and more - is changing the attitude in my classroom as well as encouraging attendance.
