Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are crazy about music and love to read too. I want to add to my music classroom's library of engaging stories about musicians that will capture their attention while reinforcing their literacy skills.

My students attend a public Kindergarten through Eight Grade school in a high poverty urban community in New Jersey.

My students love music class and are always enthused by new materials. Unfortunately, our school does not have a budget for music supplies. 100% of our music materials come from DonorsChoose projects.

My Project

These books will be used with my Kindergarten, First, and Second grade music classes. I will use them in lessons that correspond with the content and encourage the students to do the reading themselves. They will learn about different composers, cultures, and songs all the while enhancing their literacy.

These donations will help further the love my students have for reading and for music.

They will provide my classes with new and engaging materials that will support their literacy skills. Thank you for considering this project.
