Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We aim to celebrate Lunar New Year with activities that includes fun games and drinking tea. Students will learn about the importance of giving and good fortune. We will decorate our room to bring the culture to life by hanging paper lanterns along with other symbolic decorations like red and gold banners. We will set up a table to explore how drinking tea represents harmony, respect and family unity during Lunar New Year celebrations. Students will create their own design to print on the mug. The mug will be used to store hot water to brew tea. Another area of the room, we will have a photo booth to take pictures. Finally, we will have a table for games, art and craft to celebrate Lunar New Year.

This project will provide my students with a hands-on cultural experience that builds respect and global awareness.

Through games, tea and traditions, they will develop a deeper understanding of the Lunar New Year and its significance to millions of people around the world.
