My Project
Lunar New Year represents a time of starting new and fresh. My library students are learning about how Lunar New Year is celebrated by many cultures at different dates. I am using this topic as a stepping stone for my students to learn how to navigate the non-fiction books in our school library. I am using new signage developed to help elementary students find information about the topics they are most interested in.
The new signs will help my students navigate the library and find information about how and when other cultures celebrate Lunar New Year.
As the students find out about other cultures and celebrations, they will be able to follow the library signs to other interests that are generated by the knowledge they have gained.
The magazine holders in this request will be used to hold the new colorful signs. The signs contain images, words, and Dewey decimal numbers to support every level of student in our elementary school library.
