My Project

WCHES annually has the Lunar New Year event for all families.

Students and teachers from our Vietnamese dual language classroom are preparing for this event almost two months before it happens.

We decorate school and classrooms, read books, make posters, sing, dance, wear traditional clothes, play, and eat together. We need snacks, fake scratch-off tickets, and more.

We learn about which countries celebrate the Lunar New Year, where it comes from, and how people worldwide celebrate it.

We love that we always have a lot of support from our community, especially Panda Express, with free resources and funds. It will help us, as a diverse school, have so many memories from that New Year event.
