My Project

Lunar New Year is an important holiday for the Chinese people.

Incentive for learning: A gift card, whether from Amazon, McDonald, Wendy’s or Subway can serve as an incentive for academic achievement, effort, or positive behavior.

This can increase students' motivation to engage with their studies and work harder toward their learning goals. My students will do pa roject on Chinese Lunar New Year. In their project, they will include the history, the celebration, the culture etc. The students will discuss their projects with other peers. Students with the best project will get to choose gift cards for doing the project. We will also play Jeopardy asking students questions regarding Lunar New Year. The team with the most correct answers will win gift cards. The gift cards will be used to promote positive behaviors and academic achievement in class. Rewarding students with Lunar New Year gift cards can be a form of positive reinforcement, encouraging them to maintain or improve their behavior and attitude in the classroom. The students will choose which gift cards they want. The gift cards will be used to help my students educate themselves about Chinese New Year.
