My Project

Donors,

The High Velocity Floor and Oscillating Tower Fans will be used to create a cool and comfortable classroom for my students.

Many of my students are struggling readers and when the weather calls for 80 and and above temperatures, my classroom becomes extremely hot. The classroom feels like a sauna SAUNA with temperatures in the high 90s. With this extreme heat, a struggling reader becomes frustrated and irritable and may be less attentive during the reading instruction. This has the potential to cause an even gap in their reading progress.

My students deserve to learn and a cool and comfortable environment. At this time our school building's electrical system can only support air conditioning for some of the classrooms. Unfortunately, my classroom is not one that is air-conditioned. During the spring and summer months, my students enter into a classroom that is most times hotter than the temperatures outside. This causes medical risks to my asthmatic students. Even though my students come to school with the intention to do their best it becomes extremely unbearable to focus in a sweltering classroom.

Your generous donations of providing fans to the classroom will be beneficial in helping my students to remain focused on the reading instruction despite the temperatures.
