Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

More than half of my students come from low-income families and have varying learning needs. As a Pre-K teacher, many important skills are taught in this grade level. Letter names and sounds, concepts in math, behavioral skills, and so much more are taught daily. In order to accommodate and engage nearly 20 students, having adequate materials is essential.

The materials on my list would greatly benefit my students and daily instruction, as well as providing more enriching play time opportunities in the Dramatic play Center.

The majority will be used on a daily basis, from the number and letter cards, to the dry erase board. The Dramatic play area in my classroom needs updated materials. I recently had to discard two of the dolls since they were in bad shape, broken and unsafe. Students love to use their imagination and enjoy playing with dolls, which is why if I am able to obtain them, my students will enhance their social and language skills while playing pretend. The letter cards and dry-erase mats will aid my English-language learners in their letter sounds and letter formation skills.

If I am granted these invaluable materials, my students and I will be better prepared, their phonics knowledge will increase, and I will have proper materials to make the lessons more interactive and engaging.
