My Project

I teach third grade and my students love to read! I read daily to my class, and we talk a lot about each novel. This carpet will be a great place for the students to listen to me read as well as read along with their own copy of the novel. They also like partnering with each other and this carpet will give them the space to do that.

Reading and collaborating are so very important to learning, and third grade is the time when kids really excel at it.

My other passion besides reading is social studies, so a world map carpet is perfect as we will be studying countries around the world. The last carpet I had wore out long ago, and since then I've made due with not so great used ones. It would be so great for my "new to third grade" students to walk in on the first day and see this fantastic carpet!
