Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school has a small library that is run by the Friends of the Library Club. The library club was created so that students can come together in their love for reading, volunteering, and advocacy. Since our library is run by students, they deserve space that is welcoming, comfortable, and organized.

While small, the library should still be a comfortable and welcoming space for all students!

Things like rugs and plants will help make the space more welcoming, while having a school supplies cart will help the students be organized and prepared. I would like to create a photo wall to display the students at our field trips to book festivals, museums, and public libraries.

As a club, we host many activities, and with a more welcoming space we are hoping that more students will visit the library, and participate in our literacy events!
