My Project

When my teachers highlight the historical fiction genre, my students absolutely love diving into parts of history that interest them. Many of these readers have read and devoured all of the I Survived series by Lauren Tarshis. I would like to provide these readers with some of the books from the Girls Survive series written by various authors.

The Girls Survive books take students back in time and follow a story of a kid their age trying to survive a natural disaster or a conflict.

One fifth grade teacher is reading aloud the Girls Survive: Mary and the Trail of Tears and I have students asking for more! This same teacher has taught about most of topics of the books I have requested for this project, so I feel confident there will be a reader for every book on in here!
