My Students

Many of my students have processing issues as well as organization problems. If we had a document camera, I could model step by step examples and work through problems to model for my students to improve organization skills. Students can also model and project their work on the screen as well!

Our school has a very diverse population as well as socioeconomic status.

I directly work with Special Education students that have various disabilities ranging from Learning Disabled, to Autistic, to Emotionally Disturbed. Many of my students have low IQ's which severally impacts their learning abilities. Our Middle School has two classes for each grade and one of those classes in each grade is an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom. I work alongside my colleagues to differentiate instruction for our wide range of learning abilities. We do not have much access to technology and we would like to expose the students to as much digital learning as possible being that we do currently live in the digital world.

My Project

In our classroom we do a lot of teacher modeling being that my students need constant exposure to the problem solving method. If we had a document camera, students can clearly see the step by step process taken in order to correctly solve a problem and apply it to their own learning. Students can also project their work onto the screen to self assess or peer edit as well.

Many of my students do not have access to the many luxuries that we have accessible to us today.

I would like give all of my students the opportunity to at least be exposed to our digital world as we dive deeper and deeper into the newest technologies. I also believe that my students that have processing issues will benefit from the clear, step by step instruction that the document camera will allow me to demonstrate.
