My Students

My students are 9 and 10-year-old beautiful children. They are just starting fifth grade and on the way to entering a new era; junior high school.

"If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow." John Dewey.

They are wonderful people with varied talents and together they work amazingly well to help each other reach goals. Our school is an inner-city, multicultural, low income, Title I school. I hope to help them improve their lives.

My Project

I would love to give my students this magical and meaningful arts and craft activity. My students need this to feel good about themselves.

The greatest gift is the gift of giving.

When my students create and share their DIY symbol of love they will be giving themselves a gift too! Now more than ever, a hands on activity that students can use to express themselves in a positive way is so very much needed.

This year our school has been operating in a blended learning model. Still, we have completely shut down multiple times do to COV-id 19 cases. It has been challenging for students and their families to say the least. I try each day to distract them from the negativity all around us. Giving my students this meaningful art activity will help spread some love and positivity.
