This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I co-teach an English class, and one thing we want is to have books that our students want to read and can relate to.

Bronx Masquerade is a book that we have used in class for the past few years and the kids just fall in love with it.

However the class set we have has seen better days and lots of the books are falling apart. I am asking for a whole new class set. This is not a book that the district will prove but we know it is important for our students to read. After they read this book we ask them to write their own poem. In the past so many kids have found a love for reading and for poetry
