My Students

My children are 4 and 5-year-old adorable little cherubs. My students face some challenges communicating their needs and wants. Each one is unique and brilliant in their own way. Every day other members of our team and I dedicate ourselves to providing the most loving and nurturing atmosphere in which our children thrive and discover.

My students require lots of alternate teaching methods in multi-modalities.

We try to provide a variety of materials to them especially to tap into their sensory needs and need to move their bodies. At this age our children are using their whole bodies to learn. We love our children and look forward to seeing them every day.

My Project

My students are special needs learners. They need to be surrounded by multi-sensory, brightly colored and engaging learning opportunities. Since most of my students are non-verbal we try to provide as many visual and tactile stimulating opportunities as possible. An example of this would be the flexible seating I am requesting. Many of my students find it difficult to sit. With the flexible chairs they can stand and or rock a bit and not fall. This type of accommodation provides safety and addresses their need to always be moving. Additionally the sand and water table provide ways for me to “teach” through play. If for instance we are learning about sea creatures u can put little sea animals in the water. The children will touch and play with the animals rather than sit in a chair and have a book read about them or watch a video. You would be helping me achieve this if you decide to contribute to this project. We will use these materials to aid us in the process of becoming lifelong writers. As their teacher, I have done extensive research and reading on what’s best for them, I truly need your support to make this a reality. Please be assured that your contribution will make a substantial difference for the good in the lives of these young children.
