Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class forms part of a diverse community of learners in the heart of our community. A typical day in my classroom involves challenging students to overcome their fears as learners.

The school I am currently working in is a Title I school that services children of different backgrounds and learning abilities.

Students are exposed to hands-on activities and collaborative groups to form meaningful and long-lasting learning. My students are always eager and attentive to learn new things every day.

My Project

The books and materials requested will be of great service for my students. My students are reading below grade level. The materials will be used to cater to the reading needs of my students. My student will be able to learn new words and identify the new words through word building activities. Every class is composed of students of unique learning styles. My students create meaningful learning through hands on materials. However, the necessary materials are not available. Through the resources requested I strongly believe that my students will increase their reading levels and achieve higher understanding of word recognition. The materials will be mainly implemented in our daily 5 and guided reading.

The donations to this project will mainly support my students reading levels.

Reading is a must in our society. These resources will help to create a print rich environment for my students. My student will learn to create words. By creating words students will be able to isolate letters and later sounds when reading. Students will also improve their writing. Students will have a sense of sentence structure. This project will serve as a foundation for my students reading and writing abilities.
