My Project

Let’s help bring back the love of paper books. No Wi-Fi needed for this project.

Did you know my first grade class last year did not know how to hold a paper book or what a bookmark was?

Due to the pandemic and the overstimulation of the internet, young children are not reading books as much as they should be. Children should be reading books up to 20 minutes daily.

To bring back the love of reading books, I would like to create a special “Book Nook” area in my classroom for my kindergarten students. A carpet, flexible seating bean bag seats, and stools can help me create this special area.

It’s time to move away from electronics and cozy up with an actual book. Do you love feel of the paper as you turn the pages? The mixed emotions as you come to the last page of a book you have been reading? The wondering of what will happen next to the characters? I do.

Please help me teach the next generation of kindergarten students to learn to love the adventures of reading in a new “Book Nook” area.
