My Project

My classes and my Kindness Club have had so much fun helping their community through the art of weaving. They have created 150 potholders, so far, to donate to the school district's food pantry and to the different school-based Little Food Pantries. They have been working so hard and recruited more weavers and now we need more looms and loops.

Our goal is to make 200 more potholders to be shared with our community.

As they have become better at the basic weave, they are ready to challenge themselves to try more complicated patterns. With the supplies from this grant, the students will be able to practice these new patterns as they make 200 additional potholders in both sizes. Having more of the Pro Size (large) looms will allow more students to work on large potholders and allow more students to participate. The Pro Size Loops and Looms from Friendly Loom requested provide quality materials to make this possible.

I'm so excited for my students to continue to have the opportunity to share their art with the community.
