Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are creative, kind and have a lot of energy. They come from many different homes and experiences before they make it to school grounds. Sometimes their morning routines are good, but often, not supportive for their learning. For my students that come in over stimulated and unable to work, the weighted pads can quietly offer some support while in a room full of students. Some students are unable to find a comfortable setting to focus in. The time it takes to get through these behaviors of a few students, will often lead to more students discomfort.

At times students cannot contain the energy they gather in the morning before school.

With the added help of flexible, moveable seating with wobble chairs, my students will be able to move and work are the same time.

Without this additional support we often find the morning riddled with behavior issues. Thank you for considering funding my students ability to move past what brought them to my special education classroom and make gains in their learning.
