Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Living in the poorest congressional district in the United States is obviously not the easiest thing. While life outside of our school may not always be carefree and easy-going, my students still deserve every aspect of a classroom that most other American students have grown accustomed to.

While my students aren't as fortunate as many other students in our state, they show tenacity and determination at school on a regular basis.

Many of them have a chance to become first-generation college graduates (and even high-school graduates) in their families by working hard at our school. Despite certain hurdles in their education and personal growth, they have shown to be upstanding young adults and they deserve the best. Funding is limited this year and the school doesn't have the opportunity to provide as many resources as they have in the past, including things as simple as copy paper!

My Project

The general classroom items that I am requesting will help make learning more fun for my students. As special education students, simple things like stress balls and Disc-O-Sits will help them focus in the classroom. Resources like chart paper, colored paper, and pencils with the times tables on them will help make our work more exciting. Organizational tools will help accommodate my students who have a hard time staying organized. Crafts supplies will make our Arts & Crafts club even more artsy! My students will benefit from these items in all of my classes, from math, to science, to advisory, and more!

I believe that these items will entice my students to participate even more so than they already do.

I believe that my students who normally aren't so interested in learning will be able to focus more and be more engaged with these products. I know that they all want to do well and I think that with the assistance of these products it will make success a bit more easier for all them to achieve!
