My Students

My students are gifted 1st graders and benefit from differentiated teaching. They are identified as above grade level in two or more areas, yet they are still young kids, navigating life through their five senses. They love a challenge and they are fully engaged when given the freedom to think creatively.

My Project

Reading is more than just learning to decode words and put together sentences. Reading is a lifelong skill that can lead to great success! And it can all begin in my classroom!

This literacy library has all the components for guiding my first graders into a love of reading!

With beginning readers, the listening CD's can help students learn to track words as well as hear the stories read fluently to them. They can listen over and over, which breeds a love of literature and encourages practice. Most importantly, they will gain confidence and feel more compelled to pick up another book and try!
