Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to be artistic and cut and paint. The heavy construction paper in this project will be used to excite and inspire my students' imagination while improving their ability to use scissors. Lately, I have noticed that my new kindergarten students do come to school knowing how to cut or hold their pencils correctly.

If I let them practice cutting often, I find that their penmanship actually improves as does their cutting skills.

In order to get the best results, I found that my kindergarteners need heavier construction paper. They get frustrated trying to cut the lighter construction paper, because it rips easily in their hands.

This brightly colored heavy paper will be perfect for my kiddos.
