Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As we face the uncertainty of starting school online or in person, students will need various resources to be ready to learn at home. It breaks my heart knowing that they don't have access to the resources that I usually provide for them at school, such as books, journals, writing supplies, and hands-on activities.

Due to the pandemic, I will only be able to teach my students through various live videos and platforms, but it will not replace the ability to have hands-on experiences.

The majority of my students are English language learners that will be attending school for the first time. Our school population qualify for free or reduced lunch and have limited educational resources at home.

My Project

As we begin school at home or at school, it will be my English language learner student's first time in school. They will need to be excited and motivated to learn both at home or at school. Since many qualify for free or reduced lunch and come from homes lacking educational resources, they will need supplies to engage in their learning.

By having journals, whiteboards, and letters they can begin learning letter print concepts which are the foundations for reading and writing.

Having the resources they need will set them up for a successful school year.
