My Project

My students may not pronounce each word correctly. My students may not fully understand the text. But what they can do is experience the joy that reading provides, including the job tasks associated with maintaining a library stored inside school lockers.

Reading opens the world to students.

The books requested are age appropriate for high schoolers. The fiction stories are interesting and relevant to their world, whether it be sports or adaptions of favorite movies. Comfortable seating promotes interest and motivation to curl up and read. Locks to be used on the lockers storing the books are easy to open by spelling words. Shelves help to organize the books, a task completed by a student. A student will stock and organize the books in the lockers adjacent to the classroom to practice job skills. Every student will be able to engage in reading, in the traditional sense or through step-by-step directions to complete job skills.
