Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Teaching my students proper living skills is an necessity. Regardless of their various disabilities, it's my job to instruct and provide some daily essentials that they may need.

Being that some may not have the bare necessities that we all need daily, these items such as wipes, deodorant, and even a light snack will help to ensure their well-being and boost their confidence!

The supply cabinet will be open during the day, and it will be completely voluntary for students' convenience. Most of my students participate in the school-to-work program through our district, so they are working at various jobs during the school day. It is my job and duty to prepare them for their workforces!

Sometimes my students go all day without eating or drinking because they don't like the school lunch. I saw first-hand how much the "care cart" was utilized in previous years and appreciated by all students last year.

This project will help us to meet students' needs and show them that we are listening to them. We will be letting them know that we hear them, and we care enough to find solutions to issues they pointed out which will make a huge difference in our school community.

This supply cabinet will hold all of the daily hygiene items for students' potential use. This cabinet will be open during the day, and it will be completely voluntary for their own convenience.
