Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a public school in New York. All students in my school receive free lunch. 90% of the the population of students are from broken homes. A good percentage are from three surrounding shelters. My school community is predominantly African American and Hispanic. Most of the students are below grade level in reading and math and require a great deal of academic support. I am a peer collaborative teacher who work with different small groups of students from Pre-K to fifth grade. My work covers supporting students in ELA and Math instruction. As soon as I pick up any of my groups, they want to know if they will be working on computers. They love going on various websites such as Star Fall, Scholastic, Read works websites. They love the computer games and the different activities they do on the computer.

My Project

Our students need a printer! Even though we are back to in-person learning, we are still living in a digital age! With full access to google classrooms and other platforms, our students need the ability to print their work in color! This will help bring their work to life, and get them excited for any other upcoming projects. With students and and printers- comes the need for ink refills! As well as the four year protection plan - so that are present and future students can benefit from this printer!
