My Project

My "Living History" project is designed to bridge the gap between textbooks and experiential learning by providing students with an immersive and hands-on approach to understanding historical events. By utilizing historically accurate costumes and encouraging student participation in acting out these events, I believe students will gain a deeper appreciation for history, develop critical thinking skills, and enhance their empathy towards diverse historical figures and time periods.

These costumes will engage students in interactive learning, role playing, and foster a deeper connection to the past.

Last year my students loved dressing up as Pilgrims and Puritans during Halloween to learn about the Salem Witch Trials and they asked me all year long if they would get to dress up again. I am trying to make it happen for them this year!

By allowing them to step into the shoes of historical figures, I aim to inspire a lifelong love for learning and history.
