My Students

The theoretical physicist Stephen Hawkins once said, "science is not only a disciple of reason, but also, one of romance and passion." When I was in sixth grade, I found my passion for science because I was afforded the opportunity to learn from an incredible teacher and was given access to the tools and resources that piqued my curiosity of the natural world. I wish for my students to receive the same education I had.

My students deserve opportunities to observe, classify, measure, predict, infer, and communicate the happenings of our natural world.

Like most 11-12 year olds, my students are beginning to develop a taste their own interests. The students in my class are amazing, and I would like to ensure that they have access to some of the most wonderful tools and resources available. By funding this project, you are helping me expose my students to the marvels of science and allow them to follow their own curiosities.

My Project

As a teacher, I have the fundamental belief that students should take ownership in their learning. I am asking for a high definition document camera and a wireless HDMI adapter, with the purpose of having students project and explain their work to the class.

Experiments and models cannot always be moved around, but with this technology, students can bring the wireless document camera to their work stations and engage and teach their classmates.

It is hard to believe, but sometimes students just need to hear information from their peers to get the big picture, and this project allows students that opportunity .
