My Students

My students are clever, creative, and hardworking. They enjoying project and discovery. In the math classroom, some struggle to see connections and how it applies to the real world. I love their desire to persevere to show me they can work to achieve. It’s not always about the math, but making a connection to others and feeling comfortable in the classroom environment. Creating an environment where students can think on their own and develop their own ideas and test them is the top priority in the classroom.

My Project

I teach ICT classes with general education and special education students as well as many of my students are English Language Learners. Our school is extremely diverse and the community was the epicenter that was hit very hard during the Covid-19 pandemic. In order to stay in touch with my students, support their social-emotional learning and their academic learning it is imperative that I have the ability to deliver live instructions every day.

The laptop I am requesting is needed in order to connect with our students.

Our blended model of learning requires a remote learning component and this laptop will enable me to connect through live teaching and discussion. The mount clip will be used to connect my phone as a document camera to share screens and provide "hands on learning" through the computer. This equipment will help me build a stronger community of learners and keep us connected efficiently.

My laptop is 7 years old and is outdated, crashing many times during the spring remote learning which made connecting on Google Classroom difficult at times.

This laptop will assist me in connecting, learning, and providing social-emotional support without interruption. This will provide much needed stability during these trying and uncertain times we are facing.
