Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine being a Pre-K student arriving to school being language delayed and having little or no verbal communication skills. These sets of students attend a PRE-K Special Educational Program where they are serviced for speech and language, plus some also get serviced by an occupational therapist.

What most of these students have in common is that they are developmentally delayed and deserve to have an equal opportunity to be successful in life.

There will be three role models, a few that have conditions such as autism, developmental delays, and/or lack social skills.

My Project

The floor seats will be beneficial for the three and four year old students to stay in their place during greeting, circle, and story time. The wooden puzzles will help their developmental milestones by making them think outside the box. Plus, the arts and crafts supplies, including glitter, and construction paper, will help them create and express themselves. These children are like sponges when it comes to learning. Some boys and girls might just listen quietly, while some are more sparky, but at the end they all learn at their own pace and shine bright like amazing stars. Every single day is a day of learning.
